back to school

My name here is what one of my professors called me all through university.  Now I'm heading back there to teach.  It's really weird to see my name up on the course registration page...the real one, not this one.  ;)

It's a lot of overwhelming and exciting and mostly overwhelming.  So yeah, Professor.

buen viaje

In a few hours, I will be sitting at the airport waiting to head south of the Equator.  Tomorrow, I'll be in a different season and watching water drain the opposite way.

It will be a grand adventure (and I hope a good one, as well), but it's also a bit bittersweet realizing that autumn will likely be waning by the time I'm back home at the end of the month. 

Nevertheless, going to be scarce until the fliptrip.

Calgon...take me away

On a countdown to leaving for New York on Wednesday.  I am in serious need to not be here.  I suppose it's the closest thing to having a Spring Break that I'm going to get.

I have a handful of projects on my desk that I hope I can finish before I depart.  The last thing I want to do is come back to the office next Monday and see them still sitting there...

Not really sure what to say.  2013 had its ups and downs.  Well, it had Paris, and not much else going for it.

Maybe it's just the uninvited reality check I received a few hours from 2014.  I really want 2014 to be a good, happy, fulfilling year.  I wish it was starting off more promising.

I hope all of you have better prospects in sight.  Happy? New Year!
